identifying as “queer” stopped being empowering once it became an expectation instead of a deliberate statement

what the fuck does this mean

that i do not find that word to be empowering as i am expected to identify with that word, called that word coercively, and belittled for not wanting to be called by that word, as opposed to when reclaiming that slur was a personal and deliberate political statement
